Experienced, licensed and fun first grade teaacher!!

I like to teach in a way that your child can relate to. I try to make whatever we are learning fun and relate to their everyday life. I have a lot of hands on manipulatives too in my classroom which I am able to bring with me when needed!
I have been teaching for 6 years now. I originally started out in Kindergarten which I taught for 3 years, then I student taught in 2nd grade and 3rd grade, taught 3rd grade for a year and now I have been happily teaching first grade for my second year. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved with education for seven years now. I started by working as a paraprofessional in the special education program at Oyster River High School. As an undergraduate, my focus for studies in English were both Critical Literary Analysis and Creative Writing. Analytical writing was stressed heavily, giving me the ability to interpret a text based on intrinsic value. The creative tract allowed me to experiment with my own abilities while keeping in mind strategies implemented by others I have read and studied. A requirement for all English majors at the university was to have intermediate skills in a foreign language. I have taken four semesters of Spanish at the college level with additional language labs.
