A Little Bit About Me...

Since graduating from Northern Illinois University, I have had several experiences teaching children at the elementary and middle school age. I was a nanny for a family of three for a year right after graduating. It was a wonderful experience and gave me the opportunity to create my own lessons and activities for the children. The following year I was a substitute teacher in Wisconsin for various grade levels and loved each experience. I am looking forward to beginning to substitute teach again this December in the DeKalb area.
I have wanted to be a teacher all my life. I love working with children and teaching. I believe that children are the future and should be given the opportunity to do well and succeed in school. Illinois State University is well known for their education program. Graduating from this university has filled me with pride and confidence in my ability to teach. I have taken many methods classes in which they taught me how to teach lessons in Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, Special Needs students, and Literacy. Also, I have taken many Spanish classes in college along with general education classes in biology, psychology, and mathematics. Completing these courses gave me the knowledge I needed to get an A in Student Teaching. Upon completing my Student Teaching, I observed many other teachers to gain more ideas and methods in managing a classroom.
