I have taught elementary school in private and public settings, in both New York City and Florida. I taught high school English and Global Studies in New York city. I have worked as a tutor in general subjects for elementary students, as well as for Reading, Language, and Biology for high school anc dollege students. I honestly did not start out to be a teacher. Teaching was a profession that my family was involved in but I never saw it as something I would be good at. I became a teacher at first out of economic necessity and then realized I was actually very good at it. I was hired the day before classes started and stayed at the school for 24 years. I taught science, mathematics and social studies. For 5 years I was involved with an innovative ‘Student at Risk’ program and was even a media specialist for one year. With a degree in Special Education and a Masters in Education I have learned about how children learn best. I have a Florida Teacher's License for teaching ESE (Exceptional Students Education), Spanish, Elementary Education, and other subjects. I taught in the Ocala public school system.
