Hello, I'm a senior at Canyon High and a valedictorian of my class of 2013. I have taken over 10 AP tests (with scores of 4 or 5 on all of them) and succeeded in getting 2340 on the SAT. As you can see, I am a hard worker with a purpose in my mind. Some people may argue that good grades do not necessarily predict great tutoring skills. But no worries. My comments on tutoring SAT - Math : SAT math is a cummulation of all mathematics learned in high school up to algebra 2. There are both free response and multiple choice questions on the test. I have a SAT practice book from college board that I would bring to the lesson.

When teaching a student, i try to help them understand the concept of the lesson before trying to explain the procedure. Once i have explained the concept to them, I show them how to work out the problem. Once I have walked them through a few problems, I let them try to do a couple on their own, until they get stuck. When they get stuck I try to reinforce the concept, while not actually helping the student work out the problem, unless it is neccesarry.
I am a recent graduate of Rosamond High School. During my time there I took math all the way up to AP Calculus. I took the AP test, and am awaiting the results. I have a refined mathematical aptitude, and strong people skills. I may haven never tutored professionally, but I have helped many of my peers understands challenging mathematical concepts. One Concept At A Time

During my training at Union University, I was hired in the Hundley Center as a Tutor in Math, Physics, and Engineering subjects. Through tout my experience in tutoring inside and outside Union (private home tutoring) I was successful in bringing my students grades from C to A in just few sessions. I enjoyed assisting others in better understanding scientific subjects. Almost all my students continue their record of A's as well as loving the subject. Arabic is my mother tongue, and I was always the first in my classes in the various Arabic subjects. I use a white board when teach people because I find people get less stressed out when working with a problem if there is less scribbles on the paper. I also have a strong belief that it only takes one good example to understand the problem so I give the people I tutor one really good generic example of the topic and tell them to copy it down and refer to that example often and I find that it helps a lot.
I have a variety of degrees and specialties but math is my strong suite. I have tutored friends with great results. I have helped people in math classes ranging from simple math to statistics and even college level math. I love math and English and I also love working with people of all ages and teaching them to love math as well. I feel that teachers make things more complicated than they need to be and I am great at simplifying explanations for people.
