A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with students to help them to achieve their goals. I am patient and flexible. Not everyone learns in the same way, so I like to work with individuals to discover what method works best for them.
I have been tutoring students of all ages for over 20 years. Subjects I have tutored include French, Spanish, Latin, English, and math. I have also taught at the high school level for seven years and at the college level for 20 years.

Although I have only been teaching in a classroom setting for the last two semesters, I have spent a great deal of time teaching friends and fellow students over the years. I am very patient and able to adapt to the student with whom I am working. I am a firm believer that learning, and learning math especially, is not a spectator sport and that a great deal of practice is required to fully understand most material. I do my best to provide a helping hand with that practice.
Throughout high school and college, I performed at an academic level well above average. As a result, I often found myself helping my fellow students. As part of my graduate assistantship at Missouri State, I work in the math tutoring lab several hours a week, tutoring (primarily) algebra and calculus students.
