Born in a family with American Sign Language as a primary language. I am fluent in ASL including Total Communication. I have grown to love the language and understand the culture that comes with it. Teachers appointed me as their instructors for beginning ASL while I was in high school. Assisted teachers in tutoring the language. I was invited to speak at Youth Character Symposium at Webster University about my identity as a deaf person, educating others about the Deaf culture as well as our language.
