My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I've been writing since 2nd grade; I won a story contest in elementary school and was also published in the University of Cincinnati Medical School's World AIDS Day bulletin (2007). Writing is a beloved pastime of mine as well as an inherent strength.

Successful test prep retired English teacher

I recently retired from the HOPE School of Hamilton City Schools. The HOPE School is a credit recovery school that helps students get caught up for graduation. Students who are too far behind to complete graduation in a timely manner are given GED tutoring. I was in charge of this tutoring and tutoring for state standards tests. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I teach through imitation. I have had a few courses in college, and I have used numerous techniques with success in a sixth grade class room.

I always teach the material in a way that was easy for me to learn. I learn best through "hands on" approaches. I learned how to write by practicing and imitating other professionals. My assignments are creative, but I always strive for practical results and measurable improvement. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have a bachelor's degree in creative writing and poetry from the University of Cincinnati.

I went to Princeton High School, and took American Sign Language throughout my high school career. My senior year, I also mentored a fellow student who was deaf when she came to my school for a class. I also took courses at UC and recieved a certificate in Deaf Studies. I have also interacted with a few deaf people over the years.
I prefer teaching one on one, but I could teach a small group.
