A Little Bit About Me...

I like to help the student find who they are and how they want to express their individual talent. It is important to me that a young person learns/discovers who they want to be as an artist or musician in order to completely fulfill their creative personality.

I have over 10 years of advanced experience in vocal music and vocal pedagogy. I have over 5 years of experience in art of all media, and general crafting. My comments on tutoring Sculpting : Sculpture covers many different facets of creation, and we can take this is countless directions.

I believe in Art History being implemented in some of the classes, but I know that students also benefit from a hands-on approach to learning Art. I often introduce a new concept and touch on some of the steps. Most importantly, I often show an example of the finished outcome. Students then have at least a vague concept of what they are working toward. We then take the project(s) step by step and guided practice is used at first and then independent practice continues as I continue to help each student directly. If the session is one-on-one, I will work closely with the student but will only suggest changes and offer ideas occasionally and if asked. Students often need a chance to use their own creativity to thrive and make projects individual.
I have both my degree and my Masters in Art Education. I have worked six years in public education, six years of which I worked with ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working as an art teacher now in a private school for ten years for students age 4-18. Upbeat and positive, I have excellent communication and organizational skills and love to see children learn and excel. I currently teach 5 classes a week and am responsible for lesson plans, supplies and having students complete projects from start to finish. I also provide parents with my lesson plans so they are aware of the lessons I am focusing on. I am experienced not only in teaching children but also with conversing with parents. I am also responsible for keeping my classroom neat and orderly. I wish to expand my career but have a young child so on-line tutoring would be an ideal solution for me to use my talents to further help children (and adults) grow!
I have an upbeat and positive teaching style. I choose to give students freedom within set parameters of a less ... read more

Elementary Expert Offering Results

Greetings! I'm a certified elementary educator with seven years of experience working as a basic skills teacher, test prep tutor, and for the last five years a third grade teacher. I am trained in STEM and reading and writing workshops. I pride myself on growing student's reading levels, writing, and critical thinking. My approach to teaching utilizes a child's interests, technology, engaging texts, and inquiry-based projects. Tutoring can be so much more than impersonal instruction.

A Little Bit About Me...

I will soon be graduating from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Psychology. I have always had a strong inclination to help people in any way possible. I decided to major in psychology for the pure reason of enhancing my education in understanding the cognitive behavior of adolescents in learning. I will be attending Columbia University in the fall to receive my Masters in Science of Social Work. I have created 2 eating disorder support groups, and although that is more psychological rather than teaching, it taught me how to act as a supervisor to others and teach them on how to live a better life. I believe my education in psychology and my experience as working as a supervisor to others are great assets for tutoring.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a young man I had several problems with math. It turns out that I was unable to visualize what the equations meant in abstract algebra and calculus. Eventually I was able to relate these concepts to subjects that I found interesting such as music and archaeology. Therefore creating more interest in the subjects that I gravitated to naturally. I believe that I could explain concepts to others in a way that suits their interests. At the end of the day the reason I would be a good tutor is that I am truly interested in learning and teaching what I learn.
As a graduate of Lehigh University, I am interested in helping others learn about the subjects that I had become well acquainted with. I have a BA in Anthropology which I believe makes me a great candidate to teach a broad array of subjects including reading and writing, history, art, and cultural studies. In addition I have t ... read more

I am a successful graduate of Susquehanna University, having earned a BA in International Studies. This study of cultural anthropology allowed me ample experience with writing, grammar, and research. I will be attending Rutgers University next year to earn a Master of Science degree in Microbiology. I am very experienced in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, and Math on all levels. In addition to my devotion to the sciences, I have maintained an advanced-conversational level of fluency in French and an ability in the creative arts through coursework at the collegiate level and would be able to teach those as well.
