As an undergraduate I tutored in the help center of WVSU. My last semester I had to choose between Biology and Chemistry, due to a schedule conflict, and I chose Chemistry. After graduating, I worked toward my PhD at Montana State University for two years. I worked my way through teaching labs, and completed 19 credit hours, before I had to move home for family reasons. I also worked in the help center during the day and held weekly study groups in the evenings. I believe that there are no boring subjects, only boring teachers. I teach so others may learn to find interest. My heart races when I help someone learn. We are always learning, and I will always be a student. I am able to relate to people on that level, regardless of subject level. No one is born knowing this stuff, we learn through life. To teach is to learn. It must be nice to teach to teach. This is my goal.

As a non-traditional student, earning an Associates in Applied Science Degree majoring in Respiratory Therapy at Shawnee State University I excelled in both Science and English. I have written several essays, lab reports, and presentations and have been published in Guidepost Magazine. I have experience as a tutor and mentor from elementary (all subjects) to college level (science and English) students. I also have experience with developmentally challenged students.

I am a very patient person who understands that the best way to teach someone anything is to find out how they learn.
