I was a substitute teacher in the pocatello school district for one year following graduation. I enjoy watching students grasp the scientific method as it is something that comes naturally to most people if put in the right context. Science is rewarding to teach because it incorporates other disciplines like math. I often receive comments about my effective teaching style. I believe this is because of my education and that teaching science is a passion for me and a lifetime pursuit. I have noticed that people understand science better when it is related to their life. In other words, the student can apply a scientific concept in their own life. I have yet to meet a student unable to grasp scientific concepts that has gone through the mental exercise of the scientific method.
