A Little Bit About Me...

I have approximately one year of experience of professional teaching working with a grant funded program at UNCP. With this program was very hands-on and interactive with the students. I worked directly with the professors in the science department.
As a UNCP alumnus, I currently hold a BS in Biology. I have tutored peers in the past during my second year at UNCP. Subjects that I am familiar are science and math. I have a lot of experience in the science field. I currently work full-time in a lab using my science degree. I’m eager to work as a tutor and use my experience to help advance someone else’s education.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. It helped me understand the areas that I didnt and excel in the areas I did. I would like to give thas opportunity to someone else.
I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was raised as a bilingual speaker, Italian & English, and was always fascinated by the workings of language. After my discharge from the Air Force in Australia, while studying for a BA in English & History, I began teaching and tutoring in this field. I was drawn to the Linguistics aspect of my study and after comopleting a BEd degree, I went on to specialize in this subject in my MA. I now speak several languages. Although my specialty is in Secondary education, I have taught in primary elementary and at College level. I have taught and tutored students in English Lit, History, Geography, Italian, ESL, Writing and Reading.

Teaching others should be fun and effortless. The style of the teacher is what can make or break a great lesson and I feel that my students would enjoy our lessons together. Students should feel comfortable enough to ask questions and never feel overwhelmed by the lessons, that is what I strive for!
My experience comes from being brought up by, a Spanish mother who spoke perfect Castillian Spanish. My education has only enhanced my love of teaching.I have experience in many fields from being a trained Make-up artist to running nightclubs,but teaching another person to speak proper Spanish is a skill that I truly value.
