As a childbirth educator I have developed and taught perinatal classes to adults of all levels of education. Teaching CPR and First Aid classes has given me the opportunity to work with lay and health professionals and tailor the teaching style to meet the needs of the individual student. As a parish nurse I have presented numerous health topics to a variety of church and civic groups. In teaching childbirth classes as well as CPR and First Aid classes I have utilized lecture, audio-visuals, written materials, and demonstration/return demonstration methods of teaching. I have found that each individual has his or her own learning style and I like to tailor the class to the individual's style as much as possible.
