Psychology is one of my top subjects! My degree is in psychology & I have completed 13 courses in this subject

I believe that a student should have the time to figure things out on their own, but with guidance from their tutor or teacher. I think I should provide a student with all the tools they need, and then through example I will teach a student to figure things out for themselves. There is no other way that I know of to quickly build the confidence of a student and the belief in one's self, than to teach a student how to figure out problems on their own. It is a very uplifting and life changing experience for a student to finally have confidence in self. My role is to encourage, guide, and correct when they may be going in the wrong direction while learning.
Most all of my experience in life has been in business, Corporate America. However, I have always been a teacher at heart. I spent several years as a student tutor while I was attending college, both in the classroom and during my ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate student in Sociology at Wichita State University, I was able to explore my passion for human behavior with great detail and rigor. During this time, I was able to use SPSS extensively for statistics and data analysis for Crosstabs, Frequencies, T-tests, ANOVA, Correlations, Descriptives, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, OLS Regression, and Weights. I also served as a graduate teaching and research assistant, which allowed me to tutor students on how to use SPSS while also applying SPSS for research projects and program evaluation.
I believe the fundamental goal of teaching is to foster learning. Learning takes place in many different circumstances and contexts. Although everyone is capable of learning, a student's desire to learn is a vital pre-condition to effectively mastering new concepts and skills. I've previously worked with children at the Kids on Campus program at OWC, teaching Songham Taekwando.
