Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student. I have worked as a teacher on the Big Island, and spent over ten years as a volunteer trainer at public access television facilities in New York and Texas. I am currently seeking tutoring work as I complete the last year of my online "masters in elementary education" program. I have a bachelors in Psychology, and twenty years of working experience, 5 in supervisory positions. I can teach elementary and high school level work. I have taught Navajos, Hopis, Apaches, Mexicans, Arabs, and in two Multinational Schools in Saudi Arabia and to princesses in the Diplomatic Quarters of Riyadh. A Little Bit About Me...

My career in education began while attending CSUN. I started as a paraprofessional at a charter school, and also was able to teach my own elective classes. I graduated with a BA in Deaf Studies, with a concentration in Language and Culture. After moving to northern California, I worked at a college as an ASL interpreter. I went on to teach ASL at a private High School in San Francisco for 3 years. I am currently teaching Deaf students at the high school level.
