A Little Bit About Me...

I have taken education classes at Northern Kentucky University. At one point, I was considering on being a Art Teacher. I didn't finish with that path, but I did gain much experience with children and knowledge during that time in working with students. I have worked and studied special needs children as well. I still consider going back for a Master's at some point in education. I think this job would be beneficial in my goals, and for my students, and a great learning experience for us both.
I am not overbearing. I am laid back, but at the same time, I make sure that the student learns what he/she needs to learn. I am very patient. I try to respect the student and not make learning seem like a chore. Building a foundation of learning skills, even during a short tudoring session can really change a student's approach in all of their classes.

I love teaching children new things. All children learn differently and at different speeds. I believe if given the chance all children can achieve the highest learning they set their minds to. All children learn through guided discovery and exploration. All children deserve the chance to learn.
I have graduated with an Associates degree in Applied Science for Early Childhood Education. I am currently going for my Bachelors Degree in AYA Mathematics to teach high school math. I am in my second year there starting in January. I love teaching children of all ages. I have worked in Preschool/Day Care for almost six years now. Being that I have graduated from both Concordia College and Ivy Tech Community, I have found that I am well prepared in providing services to young children. I have taught Head Start children for several years. I received many accolades for my work with children from supervisors, co-workers, and parents as well. I also tutored children in reading in their homes and other public places.
