Through all of my work related experience, teaching has been the one thing that I loved and felt completely comfortable doing. I believe that every child can learn, but that they often need individual attention and a variety of strategies and techniques used in order to find the one that fits. Throughout my education, English and writing have always been my best subjects. I am currently a junior at Rockhurst University studying children's speech therapy, and I have 2 years experience teaching English as a second language in Thailand. While I was in college, I was a nanny/ tutor for two girls- ages eight and nine for two years. Soon after, I spent two years as a paraprofessional, working one-on-one with emotionally disturbed and behavior disorder students ages twelve to eighteen. At Emporia State University I student taught in Kansas City, Kansas elementary schools for a full year and graduated with honors.
