For my degree I had to take a year of chemistry, which I immediately fell in love with, even though I had hated it in high school. I find each experience in teaching to be different. The two girls that I tutored were both unique in personality and learning style. I find that identifying what needs the child has is the key to helping them learn. Also- figuring out what they like to learn and what they dislike is important. Although the ‘dislikes’ may be necessary, when they are identified, you can reward the student who completes them with an activity they enjoy. I understand that language does not come easily to everyone and that patience and perseverance pay off.
