I have been studying education since my high school graduation in hopes of one day being the choir director at my high school.At the moment I am a student at UTEP studying bilingual elementary education and plan to receive a masters in music education after receiving my bachelors degree. I am currently a subsitute teacher and am hoping to continue helping students with their studies in the summer and weekends. In my schooland work experience I have worked with children of all grade levels and all subjects. I am firm but like to use students life experiences and hobbies to teach them subjects. Younger students I like to teach through play due to the fact that I am a firm believer that children learn through play.

As a 2009 graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, holding a Bachelor of Arts, with a minor in English and American Literature, and with the teaching experience that I have gained in various fields since 2004, I feel that I am well-suited for this job. I have taught Reading ESL at the Transmountain EPCC Campus, as well as French at L’Alliance Francaise d’El Paso, and Spanish/ESL/French at La Paz Language Academy. I will also be teaching a Spanish beginners’ course at the History Museum of El Paso, giving evening classes to staff and community members, once a week, during the Fall semester of 2012. I have also tutored high school and college students in Ethics and in Literature courses, and still do so quite often. I have been in health setting for more than 35 years already as I am a Physician in Mexico, so clinical (as Family physician and hospital) experience and necessary to pass the NCLEX at first attempt in the US is strong. My experience as a nurse in the US since 2008 has left me strong knowledge about nursing processes, rules, regulations, quality on documentation and I have been a Home Health nurse, clinical on the field and as of manager of nursing. I speak perfect Spanish and English as well, so this could be helpful for some nurses while the learning process is on going. I also was a coordinator of Clinical Education in a hospital setting. Give a lot of motivation to students. I like to adjust to their own pace and rhythm of study of each individual.
