A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently attending Air Academy High School as a senior. My expected date of graduation is May 17, 2012. I am studying multiple core classes but take a special interest in English. I have taken multiple classes including grammar, writing, and everywhere in between. I have also taken an assortment of Math classes. Now I am currently taking Functions, Statistics, and Trig. My younger brother and I both have moderate ADHD. While this is technically not a disability it puts a strain on learning new subjects. I have led several small groups of teenagers and young adults in Biblical studies at Prairie Hill Evangelical Free Church, several musical groups in practicing and performing, and a summer-long book club at Crown College. In gaining my Associate of Arts degree from Crown College, I also led many study groups on subjects ranging from Chemistry to Physics, English Literature to Creative Writing.
I love discovering each individual student and the way to help them learn. My goal is to help students become inspired by their subject matter so that it can play a role in their lives as well as their test scores.

After graduation I applied and got a teaching job and I taught at Skyview Middle School in District 49 for 4 years teaching Ancient Civilizations. Before that I was a substitute in District 8, 2, 3, 60, 48 all southern Colorado school districts.
I am a holistic teacher who likes for students to experience the subject. For example I would have student immerse themselves into the subject of history and complete a project and present it to the other students. It was really successful and had students waiting all year.
