A Little Bit About Me...

I'm a fifth-teen year old, currently enrolled at Thomas J. Corcoran High School, where I am a sophomore I currently take IB classes and wanted to start tutoring to pass the time and pick up a little extra cash. I'm drug free and have never tasted alcohol. I try to be patient and usually am. I'd prefer to work with children still in elementary or middle school, seeing as I haven't learned everything yet. I know the basic and more to just about everything eighth grade and below. I like children to learn through exploring. This is not to say that I do not teach, but I plan lessons in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace. I feel like if I can put together a lesson that gives children a motivation to learn, they will learn on a deeper level than if I am merely telling them information. With my middle school math students whom I tutored, this meant that we learned about fractions through art. It was not enough to explain to them how fractions worked, I realized that they needed to experience fractions.
