A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching groups as well as one on one sessions. I believe teaching in a group can be exceptionally helpful as children have the opportunity to not only learn from their designated teacher but also from each other. I enjoy working with all kinds of children and of any age. Teaching children individually is also extremely rewarding as one can give them his/her undivided attention. I come from a country where education is more of a privilege than a right. This has motivated me to teach since the past few years as I believe an educated nation is a healthy nation.
As a person who has grown up in Pakistan, studied in the UK and is now in US, I can communicate and understand different kinds of people. I have been at Pennfield High School for almost 6 months now and I have learned how to incorporate the new standards into the curriculum. I am currently teaching part time in the Mathematics department, teaching the subjects of Geometry and Algebra. I also have spent 5 years working for the Carman Ainsworth School District as an At-Risk tutor. I have had to lower myself to the students’ level of understanding to make the subject of Mathematics make sense to each individual student. I have had the opportunity to work at different levels of education, from middle school to high school, and have realized that this is the group of children that I want to impact.
