A Little Bit About Me...

Over the past three years, I have tutored more than 40 undergraduate students in various capacities. Not surprisingly, my teaching style has varied quite a bit depending on my audience. Getting students to focus and engaging them in conversations that would get them interested in this subject has been the key. Dissecting a problem down to basic concepts and then explaining it in a simplified fashion has been my style and that has helped my students quite a bit. Very specifically, I usually spend first five minutes understanding student’s issues with a particular chapter or problem. Subsequently, I follow up on that with simple examples that explain these concepts which help students to grasp the concept easily.

I worked my way through college, working full-time and attending classes whenever possible. I graduated from Ohio State with a degree in mathematics, majoring in the field of Actuarial Science. So, I know the value of accomplishment through perseverance and determination. As a full-time employee, I deal with statistical data and clientele daily. I have excellent communication skills both oral and written and use these skills extensively dealing with the public. I have a substitute teaching license from the State of Ohio using this to sub in the local school districts.
