Spelling is one of my top subjects! Because I used phonics to teach all four of my children to read, they have all become good spellers. I used Spelling Power which is a program good for ages K-12 and I would probably use it to help tutor your child as well. I have also used it to instruct a dyslexic adult reader and another adult learner whose first language is Chinese.

I have home schooled four children ( two of whom were foreign speaking adopted from Russian) through 12th grade. All four are now in college. Have a graduate degree in library science, the conservation of research materials and fine arts. English Language Arts Teacher

I believe that real learning takes place when students are actively engaged in the material. Finding the right materials to teach with will often inspire intrinsic motivation.
I have currently spent over 350 hours in a variety of school settings. From private school to public, first grade to twelfth, I have seen it all.
