I enjoy teaching very much. I think a strength trying to use a student's active content or prior knowledge to connect to material. My attempts are always to make the student feel empowered by the education process. If you can connect to way what they are into, either cartoons, hip-hop, popular culture, with conservative humor, then sometimes you can gain their understanding much quicker. Currently I am the three to five year old Sunday school teacher for my church. I enjoy this age group because they surprise me every time with their knowledge and insight. They are an enthusiastic group who want to learn and share what they know. In the past I worked as a high school history teacher, I tutored another student in US History in high school, and in 7th grade I tutored elementary school students in reading and vocabulary.

As a teacher, classroom experiences have made me realize all students do not learn the same fashion. Some students are more aggressive and advanced but there are those who are silent and will not speak out about difficulties understanding competencies. I prefer not to embarrass those students but give them the opportunity to learn one-on-one. While some students have a difficult time with teacher/student ratio, I like to give the option of working with another student who may understand the content and can teach another peer. In addition, students need to connect content with real world examples that I bring to the classroom. Students comprehend what they understand and identify.
