I propone an exploratory, learn-by-doing philosophy regarding education; I believe that students are best served producing their own inquiries (guided by an educator), and then seeking resolution through gathering information. My teaching style is one which engages the student actively in the learning process. I have used the "popcorn" technique in a classroom, where I call out "popcorn", then call on someone at random. This ensures that each student in the class is following, or else they lose their turn to read. If I'm working w/ a student w/ poor reading skills, I allow them to read, and help them w/ the difficult words, encouraging them to sound out the word.
