After finishing student teaching, getting certified to teach in Pennsylvania, and graduating from Moravian College, I joined Teach for America and committed two years to closing the achievement gap. I have taught 10th and 11th grade English for two years in Forrest City, AR. I have run after-school ACT prep sessions with my students, and I have worked one on one with them both before and after school hours. All of my lesson plans are objective-based and built with the intent of being both purposeful and rigorous. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to tell people that i did not choose teaching; rather I believe it chose me. I have always worked with children that were struggling whether it was socially or academically. I was typically working with what are known as the "at risk" students. However, I eventually found my way into the classroom as It was noticed that I had a natural ability to balance teaching in the content area and managing behaviors.
