I am a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Biology with a concentration in microbiology. I also have minors in leadership and Chemistry. Therefore my understanding of the sciences and basic mathematics is quite extensive. For two years in school I tutored in mainly Chemistry but I also tutored in Chemistry applied mathematics such as statistics, geometry and algebra. Teaching is one of my passions, and I intend to teach at the college level after obtaining my M.S. My fourth grade teacher sparked my love of science at an early age; she was so excited about the material and invested in us that we couldn't help but learn. After I completed my degree in psychology from the University of Redlands I became a substitute teacher for a year before I decided to go back to school and pursue a career in medicine. I also was an American Reads Tutor in college working with special needs elementary students. I finished by post-baccalaureate Pre-Health Certificate with a GPA of 3.99. The courses included: calculus, general chemistry, genetics and molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry and physics.
