"Half of knowledge is knowing where to find it."

Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.
After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. Eperienced results-based tutoring

As a college graduate with a degree in Journalsim, I spent many years writing for both print and news radio. I have excellent writing and grammar skills. I have taught Business Writing courses to groups of employees from many nationalities who need to understand the English grammar rules and proper sentence structure, etc. Most were not native English speakers. I also volunteered in Schwarzkopf elementary school helping children with learning disabilities learn to read. A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate, I worked as a volunteer tutor in the Robles Park/Seminole Heights area for two years. I tutored kids in math, science, English, and social sciences. I also tought sunday school in my church where I was involved in designing the curriculum and planning lessons. I am also an experienced substitute teacher.
