A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an instructor in the Martial arts for over 20 years, and have taught every age group. I have a talent of putting complex issues into layman’s terms. I am passionate about the subject matter and can transfer that enthusiasm to the student. I use logic, humor, stories and historical references to explain a concept to the student. I believe students will try harder and perform better if the subject matter is simple, interesting and compelling.
As a Martial Artist and former member of the Military, I am highly disciplined and driven to excellence. Resource Economics, not only went extensively through Beginning and intermediate Macro/Microeconomics, but included courses on government policies and environmental economics. My teaching style is highly creative to borderline eccentric! I have extensive training in the various learning styles and instinctively target the student's learning style in order to make the most progress. I am a firm believer in kinesthetic learning activities and of using a hands-on, mnemonic-driven approach to teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

For me, teaching is a calling, a passion, something you have to love. After a successful career in private industry I was unhappy and missing something. After some soul-searching I realized my dream and became a teacher. I feel that the teacher should help facilitate the learning experience for the student. I believe in setting the bar high and helping the student reach their full potential. My teaching style involves a variety of model to best fit the learning style of the student.
