Italian is one of my top subjects!

I have tutored students in French and Italian in High School as well as college. I also tutored students in study skills, so that they can focus more on studying and be able to do well on tests/exams. I also tutored my niece and cousins, all in Elementary/Middle School in Math, French, Typing, and Study Skills. I also helped them with completing their homework if they didn't understand something.

I like to adapt my style to the student's personality and learning style. Some students learn best through visual methods, some auditory and some prefer experiential learning. While textbooks often provide a good foundation, I like to use "real world" teaching if possible. For example, I might have a student act out a situation (renting a car, for example) that he or she may encounter in real life. I am also very patient and this is a key factor for good tutoring.

Teaching children and adults is a very rewarding experience. I tailor my lessons to each person, taking under consideration their learning styles. I am very patient and take my time with each student. I like to praise and encourage each individual for their hard work.
I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in History, and spent some time overseas studying music. My BA in History made me into a strong writer and critical thinker. My experience overseas helped my improve my italian skills and also achieve an understanding about other cultures. I have earned a BS in Biochemical Engineering, and almost a BS in Apply Mathematics, at Rutgers University. Since I was in my native country I had a very clear goal in mind. A Little Bit About Me...

People have told me all my life what a great teacher I would be. I have also been fortunate to have acquired a vast number of friends who are not native born Americans. As such, I have always helped them learn English. It was one of the reasons I chose to study International Relations as a Master's candidate, to learn more about the world. I have spent the last 11 years helping people from all cultures learn my native language, and it is a very rewarding experience.
