I believe each child/adult is different and each has a unique learning style. My teaching style will depend on each persons learning type. Some need very little direction before they get started and some need you to guide and direct them most of the time. I can do both and love watching that red light click on when someone finally understands the concept of something new. My teaching style is "one-on-one" for the most part. My first instinct with tutoring is empathetic: if I were struggling in this particular subject, what would be the best way for me to understand it? If this method proves ineffective, I would choose a different technique. I am a visual learner so I often teach visually.
