I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I do not have professional experience teaching however I have experience tutoring my niece who I have been responsible for since she was 5. She is now 12 and a straight A student. I tutored throughout school and was a teachers aid in Elementary school. I have 2 young boys of my own who will beginning school next year. I have tutored in writing, K-5 math, science and history. I have been working with children for several years. I started by teaching dance at a local dance studio while I was in high school. It was from this experience that I chose to go to college to become a teacher. I have a degree in Elementary Education and am ESOL certified. I have experience as a substitute teacher and have worked with both elementary and middle school students.

I enjoy sharing what I know and have learned with others. I have a 7 year old son and believe patience is a valuable characteristic of mine. I'm also very easing going and get along well with most people. When tutoring, I first attempt to help someone understand a subject especially chemistry as structured in the text book but whenever possible, if the situation requires, I will try to simplify the subject in any way possible until the student makes it over the hump and then the text version usually becomes more clear.

I am certified to teach both math and reading in Florida. I am particularly strong in helping students to understand the basics. I became a teacher because I feel that I can make a positive difference in my students' lives while providing them quality instruction from a teacher who truly cares. My last teaching assignments were in preparing high risk students to pass the FCAT and the GED. My students exhibited a ninety-seven percent pass rate on both tests upon passing my class.
