A Little Bit About Me...

I am a fun, but no non-sense teacher, who pays attention to my student’s likes, dislikes and weaknesses in order to individualize my teaching and make learning interesting and exciting. I raise the bar for my students, while always remaining cognizant of my student’s abilities, strengths and weaknesses as to keep my expectations reasonable.
I am a sensitive, creative, and patient teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education and an Associates in Fine Arts, with more than 26 years of experience in championing educational and developmental student needs. Sculpting is one of my top subjects! I have been sculpting as a hobby for the past 12 years. I have experience in creating full size busts of various characters including the alien "Predator". My medium of choice is modeling clay "Chavant NSP Medium" although I have worked with other various clays. I have experience in life casting, mold making, prosthetic creation, and prop making. I am currently about to finish a T-Rex model inspired by Stan Winston's work in jurassic park, which I will be mass producing and selling as a paint it your self model in addition to creating a "Kickstarter" to help acquire funding. I am self taught and believe I can contribute a great deal not only in your sculpting ability but also your ability to continue learning and self teach.

I am a highly motivated individual that enjoys working with other. While having a solid education in Finance & Accounting I also pride my self in my artistic and creative abilities. My grandfather had me using power tools to build projects even in elementary school and I know that starting young and observing my grandpa has had a significant influence on my ability to teach my self and create essentially anything I set my mind to. I can assure you that my experience in sculpting will contribute greatly to your artistic ability and my well rounded knowledge will assist in nearly any project you would like to take on.
I don't have much teaching experience but I will adjust my teaching style to each individual student's interests and needs.

My comments on tutoring Sculpting : I've worked with quite a few different materials and could easily teach you how to hone your skills in from beginner to novice levels. No firing materials unless you have access to a kiln.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Art Institute in 2004 with top honors and a nomination for Best Demo Reel. I taught for a semester in 2004 at the Institute and went on to teach privately the the next two years (tutor). I became a photoshop trainer at work and an Art Director of a million dollar graphic design firm by 2007. I have flown to Cape Town in South Africa and Canberra in Australia to teach crash course photoshop seminars- up to 8 people with no computer experience at all. I have lead a team of 15 in photo editing for a professional studio and still teach privately today.
Hands on and detailed lecture. I talk fast, but I teach you to work fast as well. The hardest part of my lesson will be knowing when to put it down and call something finished. I love to laugh, be loud and have a great time. It's a joy to teach and I make sure it's a joy to learn as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

My goal as a teacher is to meet the individual needs of students, teaching them “how” to learn, and guiding them towards their full potential as learners and citizens. I strive to use strengths to turn weaknesses into success. I enjoy using many instructional methods, finding “the one” that can make a concept come to life. I feel it is imperative to “reach before teach” when it comes to identifying and meeting needs. Developing a bond of trust and commitment leads to a less stressful environment, opening the door to creative learning with little fear of failure. I use a lot of humor in my teaching; I like puns and really bad jokes and I’ve been known to dress in costume or speak in an accent all day.
I spent much time in college working with local teachers and tutoring their students. Upon graduation, I spent a year teaching 4th grade in a private school. In Florida, I continu ... read more

The scope of my teaching experience is non-traditional teachings. I taught middle school girls and adults in craft courses. While my children were in middle school, I volunteered in their arts and craft classes. I taught senior adults in a beginner Microsoft Office class at the Sunshine Senior Center in Deltona. While attending Daytona State College; Advance Technology Center was being build; I assisted an associate professor in ordering and setting up the materials testing laboratory. I volunteered to assist in teaching the first few classes. I find it very rewarding when a student has learned the subject and has a feeling a pride. That will follow them into the next subjects, with the sense that they can accomplish anything.
I do not have one teaching style. Just as people have individual learning styles, I adapt my teaching style to the student and to the course that I w ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Most of my 15 years professional experience has involved working with children and youth in a variety of settings including in a preschool as a Teacher, in therapeutic day school for students with special needs as a Teacher's Assistant, in residential facilities where mentoring and role modeling were an essential function, as well as in after school programs in which I tutored students. Because of my strong passion for improving the lives of children and youth through education and mentoring I am now pursuing teacher certification. My degree in psychology has given me a foundation to not only teach social sciences but it has also complemented my professional experience.
My degree in psychology, as well as my experiences working in a classroom setting, and my own experience as a student has helped me understand that everyone gains knowledge differently and that subsequently there ar ... read more

I spent four years of my college in the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. I enjoyed helping my schoolmates. I joined the organization "Scholia" where we conducted tutoring for free to help our schoolmates with certain subjects.
I enjoy teaching other people. I know in my simple way I am helping them. I can adapt to other people's environment or show them a new way to approach some things. I understand that each individual has their own way on learning things and I respect that.

A Little Bit About Me...

I find great joy in watching a child progress in their education. All children are capable of learning at their own pace, and through repetition. Your child will find success and ease in their academics through my assistance. I am patient and understanding, yet persistent. I firmly believe in encouraging a child to discover his/her strengths in order to overcome whatever obstacles may present themselves. I make learning fun by using everyday life siutations parallel to each equation. If more learning were hands-on, more students would be able to apply learned techniques to their situation at hand.
As a college senior, I have accumulated countless hours towards tutoring and mentoring those in need. Whether it's Pre-K, Elementary, Junior High, High School and College students, I spend a great part of my life not just accomplishing goals, but taking the time to extend a hand and bring ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style addresses each student as an individual with unique abilities and strengths. I believe that it is important to create a positive learning environment for the child and instill a "can-do" attitude. I approach the teaching of a difficult concept by evaluating the child's current level of knowledge and using task analysis to scaffold increasingly progressive steps to achieve comprehension. My greatest reward in teaching is the recognition that lights up a child's eyes when he or she realizes that he or she can learn.
I have a wide range of teaching experience with K-12 students who have difficulty learning in a mainstream classroom. My academic background consists of a M.A.T. in Elementary Education, a B.A. in Audiology, and seven credit hours in graduate coursework. I have a valid Florida teaching license. I obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, I worked very hard to receive my B.A in a field I enjoyed learning. I also hold an Exceptional Student Education Certification K-12. I have experience with exceptional education and mainstream students. I contain many years of experience working individually with students to achieve their educational goals.
Work well with accomidating others in the different learning styles. Having a hard time explaining to teachers and professors about their teaching approach made me aware of the situation. I love to teach others how to long for self motivation. I believe that anyone can learn as much as they would like if they think positive and continue to focus.

More About This Tutor...

I would describe my personal teaching style as sympathetic and demonstrative. In a one-on-one tutoring situation, I like to first lend a sympathetic ear to find out what a student knows and what they need help with. By allowing a pupil tell me what they know, I can then see where the work needs to be done to help them improve. I would say that I like to help students learn by showing them the steps or thought process that will lead them in the right direction. I like to confirm step by step that they understood how I got there. Lastly, I have them work the problems on their own to ensure they feel comfortable. Activities and practice coupled with patience and personal tailored guidance is the key to a student’s ability to excel.
I have a deep passion for learning that has led me to the path of guidance for children today. I have always loved reading and writing, taking AP English c ... read more
