A Little Bit About Me...

It has been my great pleasure to have taken part in several classroom setting teaching opportunities and numerous tutoring jobs. I taught Chemistry and Calculus to incomming university freshman in the Engineering Freshman Transition Program (eFTP) and proctored and designed the University of Florida's Tissue Engineering Lab class. While in university I tutored every mathematics dicipline from pSAT prep to Differential Equations and Astrodynamics. I also have a great deal of experiance tutoring test taking and college readiness. I try to bring an understanding of real world application to my tutoring. Helping students see math as something they use everyday and will continue to use in the future helps them to appreciate why it is worth study. I also try to stress that mathematics is fluid. Each subject feeding into the next and the most complicated problems are really just applicat ... read more

More About This Tutor...

As a graduate of Lynn University, I am very much driven to help students excel in Academics. I work for a grant funded program called, Upward Bound which I work and mentor high school students in the pursuit of going to to post-secondary education. I mentor students in financial aid, homework assistance, essay, reference letters, procedures how to get into college..I have also tutored students in reading, science, math, English, psychology.
I believe all students can learn if they put their mind into it and have someone supporting them in their efforts. I like to mentor/tutor outside the box, by being creative in my approach, for example: showing them math by painting and measuring, or baking..It helps the student realize that education is everywhere in life..It is not something that is only used in a classroom.

More About This Tutor...

Since high school, I have been very active in the community. I volunteered for a number of different organizations to help students at several grade levels with their studies. My most recent experience was last year with students at an elementary school in Riviera Beach, FL. I acted as a teacher's aid for a few hours a week, and also participated in a "HOST" program, to help students individually gain the knowledge and practice to be able to read at or above their grade level. As a student pursuing a doctorate degree in pharmacy, I have had exposure to a wide variety of subjects, with emphasis in the math and science areas. I have completed mathematics to the calculus level, and have taken several years of various biology, chemistry, and other more specific science courses. I feel that through my six years in college, I am very well trained to tutor students, and often helped my peers t ... read more

I believe people in general need to find a way to learn material. Most people are either visual learners or auditory learners. I tend to see what my students prefer and go from there.
As a medical school student persuing my MD degree, I am exposed to a wide variety of subjects. In order to be granted admission into a medical school I had to get my bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. A Little Bit About Me...

From my many years of teaching experience, I have adopted a few different teaching styles due to the fact that every student learns differently. For instance, some students are very slow learners and some aren't, obviously; and so I may use a different approach based on the student(s) or class I happen to be teaching at the time. I am very flexible when it comes to teaching, and I like to get feedback from my students from time to time, making sure that it's working and they are learning the material like they are supposed to. I am very passionate, very patient and very good when it comes to teaching. I also would like to think that I am a very good teacher, at least that's what I have been told in the past by many of my students.
Although I have not taught in the last 2 years, I have been teaching since 1997; I love teaching and I have taught people from all walks of life and stu ... read more

As a student at the University of Florida, diversity has always been a highly sought after attribute. I majored in English, but I also took extensive courses in Literary Film and both Hebrew and Hebrew Literature. Though my major offered a specialization in American Literature, I chose to expand my scholarship to include a broad spectrum of British, Israeli, and American Literature as well as Literary Theory. I have extensive writing and editing skills due to numerous essays ranging from 5 to thirty pages. I have tutored in reading, English, Psychology, Fine Art Analysis, and Hebrew language.
I really love children! I believe that there is no such thing as a bad student; simply a student who has not found his style of learning. I am patient, understanding, and flexible, but I am also firm and able to redirect even the most wandering attention span. I try to make learning as ... read more

There are certainly different ways to inform or communicate ideas. The strategy employed in reaching a student(s) is selected on an individual basis, suited to the needs of a child. Teaching is about preparing and showing a person how to extract information and the tools to best achieve that in their own way. The rewards of teaching/tutoring is in watching the children, grow with every lesson and task completed, until they learn how to, on their own. I have found great joy in being able to offer my assistance to children, friends, family, classmates and co-workers in achieving some of their goals. Encouragement, Commitment and Belief, can make the impossible - POSSIBLE !!
My educational background is one of variety that includes Architecture, Construction, Front Desk Operations and Real Estate. During both college years and working as a professional I have held several positions ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with children for most of my adult career. While earning a Master's Degree, I taught Math at a local High School. At first, I accepted the position, because it gave me an opportunity to continue working with children and because the school schedule granted me the opportunity to take early afternoon classes. While teaching, I realized my potential as an educator, as well as my passion for teaching.
I especially love working with Elementary and High School students. My approach to teaching is to get the students involved in the learning process. I demonstrate how to solve the problem first and then give students the opportunity to show me how the problem is to be solved. Practice makes perfect and my students are able to achieve high grades, because I do not teach new material, until the old ones are mastered.
