I am extremely passionate about the education of our youth, and I believe that it is the foundation of a growing society. I have worked with children in urban high schools and juvenile facilities, and I have thus learned to appreciate the difference that a dedicated teacher can make in an environment that does not lend itself to learning and growth. For the past 30 years, I have worked with special needs students. I believe that students learn at their educational level. The problem with education today, is that students are often in classrooms that stress learning at their frustration level. Many students are in general ed settings, but are forced to use materials that they do not fully understand. In my role as a teacher consultant, I adapted materials so the students could understand it. If chosen as a tutor, I would do the same so the students would learn at their education level.
