Expertise with Struggling Students

I am a credentialed teacher currently working with at-risk students. I teach ALL levels of math through Algebra II, as well as computer ed. I managed our school's independent study program for 3 years, and currently help students with on-line classes (in addition to teaching in a traditional classroom.) My comments on tutoring Geometry : You need to know your basic if you are tutoring calculus

I would like to explain a global picture of a class material, what to expect from learning the class. All of this is not to scare students, but to mentally prepare them with the challenge ahead. I like to give my student quizzes after the tutoring, just to make sure they understand. This is a feedback process, so I could adjust my tutoring style accordingly.
Have a PhD in organic chemistry. Have been teaching assistants in almost undergraduate level chemistry classes (general chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry) during graduate school.
