Need Piano Lessons?

My teaching style is not entirely concrete, for I feel that it depends on the maturity of the student and willingness to learn the subject at hand. I am very patient when I need to be, and my main goal is to simply make sure each student walks away knowing what they needed to learn.

I will have graduated from the University of California, Irvine as of June, 2015 with a B.A. in Cognitive Sciences. Throughout high school and college I have had an extensive history with writing and literary fiction, both in reading and writing. Proficiency is acquired with methodical steps.

My approach is simple: assess the student's academic weaknesses, review the strengths, then teach the new material in order to bridge the content or skill. "Scaffolding" is the best means by which to teach so that the student understands the significance of the lesson. Too often, teachers play sage-on-stage, thereby neglecting to connect what the student already knows with the new material.
