My comments on tutoring Sculpting : I can sculpt clay. I have practice in ceramic hand building and figure sculpture.

I have been drawing, painting, and making crafts since I was little. I have taken many different art classes throughout high school and college, learning at least the basics in many different mediums. I worked at a Summer Fun for 4 years as a leader and taught children ages 4-11 various arts and crafts. I also worked for 2 years as a ceramics teacher to children ages 5-10.
I like to teach the basics and then let the student develop his or her own style.

Sculpting is one of my top subjects!

I understand that art is a highly visual field, therefore I demonstrate all techniques while giving verbal directions to ensure the highest level of student understanding. I am patient and caring and work with the student to ensure that the student fully understands all of the material covered.
I am experienced in creating and teaching art to students ages 5+. I graduated with my degrees in Fine Arts and K-12 Education, with a minor in Art History, in the Spring of 2012 from William Paterson University of NJ. I can teach students how to create drawings in various media (using graphite, ink, color pencil, charcoal, cante, etc.) as well as teach extensive sculpting techniques in ceramic, stone, and metal. The best successes come after their greatest disappointments

I like to make my tutoring sessions productive by encouraging students to work hard to complete the taste in order to receive a reward in the form of a game or something they enjoy doing. I am very thorough in correcting assignments and make sure they fully understand the concept they are working on. I am very helpful in stimulating critical thinking for creative writing assignments.
I have experience with pre k to 8th grade tutoring in Math and English tutoring to help students prepare for Iolani and Punahou entrance exams through Dr. Takahashi Juku. I have also worked extensively with children from Japan who struggle with English. I can explain English words and grammar in Japanese and well as read and write Japanese .

When I was a freshman in college, I knew that my future was in my hands. I befriended and contacted my chemistry professor and zoology advisor. I worked in both of their labs, and I was only a freshman! By studying in their research groups, I gained the experience necessary to intern at Sea Life Park Hawaii. In fact, I was published in 2007 after working for Dr. Charlie Cox in the Chemistry Department. Recognizing the need for more hands-on research experience, I found another opportunity with another professor in cellular biology. I'm a 25 year professional accountant with a CPA license in CAlifornia and Hawaii. I attended public schools and local community college before going on to graduate with high honors from the University of Hawaii. I moved to the mainland and worked full-time while obtaining my masters degree from USC. I've helped my 19 year old son through high school (he has a learning disability in math) and my 21 year old daughter with her business classes.
Both my parents were teachers and I enjoyed teaching as well. I've had good teachers and I know how important it is to be a student of your students and to know your stuff so that you can be effective as a teacher. Anyone can be taught anything as long as they are sincere in learning that thing. There is no one style of teaching that works for everyone. Any teacher worth their weight in salt would know that you have to first understand the student in order to teach them. Sometimes the teacher will need to teach the student how to learn.
I am dedicated to help others to better and empower themself through teaching and various learning processes.
