The best successes come after their greatest disappointments

I have experience with pre k to 8th grade tutoring in Math and English tutoring to help students prepare for Iolani and Punahou entrance exams through Dr. Takahashi Juku. I have also worked extensively with children from Japan who struggle with English. I can explain English words and grammar in Japanese and well as read and write Japanese .
I like to make my tutoring sessions productive by encouraging students to work hard to complete the taste in order to receive a reward in the form of a game or something they enjoy doing. A Little Bit About Me...

While raising my kids, I came to understand that each child has a unique way of learning. Homeschooling my son gave an opportunity for trial and error during which I discovered an understanding of how students would learn best. My teaching style is based on the Flemings VARK model of learning--Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Tactile/Kinesthetic. I believe that each student has a unique learning style.
