My comments on tutoring Elementary Study Skills : Was a Nanny for young children, have a BA in English

While in College I was a part time nanny for a single Mom with twins. I started taking care of the twins when they were 2 and continued until they were almost 4. I was an assistant teacher part time at little playmates preschool daycare. During my time there I worked with the 2 and 3 year old class and the 4 and 5 year old class. I also helped the older children with homework. I was responsible for helping with meals, playtime and supervising outside activities. I also volunteered at the learning tree center daycare preschool where I helped with story time and art activities. I was a religious education teacher from 2003 to 2004. I have high standards for my students, and I expect responsibility on their part. I have a good sense of humor, and enjoy hands-on activities.
My teaching career began as an Educational Assistant in 1977, in the state of California. Because of my daughter's medical needs, I was not able to finish my education as planned. Fortunately, I did not give up, I resumed my studies and in 2006, I earned my teaching degree. I'm endorsed in TESOL, Modern Classical Languages, and Bilingual Education.
