I am a former teacher of English, acting, SAT Prep, and Public Speaking. All this experience gives me unique perspective. I am adventurous and like to help students enjoy learning. I have taught 7th grade - adults in subjects ranging from acting, English/language arts, and Japanese adults how to speak and write better English.

28 Year Veteran Reading, Writing, and Math Tutor

My teaching style is very hands-on, involving pictures, manipulatives, and tactile modalities. I like to use a dry-erase board to demonstrated concepts as well as allow the student to practice. I take them step-by-step through a new concept, giving a lot of verbal positive reinforcement to praise effort as well as achievement.
I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. A Little Bit About Me...

During college, I changed my major several times, taking numerous classes for each one to determine what I wanted to do with my life. I experimented with Political Science for two years, in which I took classes in criminology, speech, and history. My next year of college was spent in English and Writing, where I focused on the obvious, as well as classes in psychology. The last few years of my college experience, where I ended up graduating with a Bachelor’s in Finance, were based around all of the science and math classes that Ohio Dominican University had to offer. I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus.
