A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is based on the student’s learning style. Each child is different and may require different teaching methods to facilitate learning. Some children are more visual and may require more interactive exercises to learn. I do not believe in spoon-feeding information to children but taking the time to ensure that they fully grasped the concept of a problem and are able to think through a solution on their own. I will work to develop their critical thinking skills and will challenge them, so that they are not just passive learners but active participants in the cognitive process. During high school I worked as a volunteer in St. Petersburg, Florida through All Children’s Hospital. Within the Bedside Buddies Program, I was able to spend over 200 hours working with physically and mentally challenged children to maintain their grades when they were experiencing long staying in the hospital. With this experience under my belt, I pursued my degree in psychology, achieving a BS rather than a BA to exhibit my proficiency for the mathematics and sciences. I graduated Jarvis Christian College in the year 2008 with a bachelors of science degree!!! With this degree and under the tutelage of my professors, I have studied various math, biology, and chemistry courses!!! I have always had a strong passion and natural inclination toward the fields of math and science. In high school, I was a member of our Varsity Math Team and was named the Outstanding Science Student for the Class of 2006. This love and knowledge of science was further developed in my college career as I worked toward earning my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Biology.
