Calculus II is one of my top subjects! Taken Spring 2012 and passed with an A.

I am currently a returning student at Arkansas State University, majoring in Computer Science, and minoring in Math and Graphic Design. I previously attended Arkansas Tech University, but withdrew due to financial reasons. In 2005, I became employed at Mid-South Community College, where my duties included helping students with computer questions and issues, as well as tutoring a few students in math. During my employment there, I taught a 5-week Intro to Computers course. The class consisted of a mix of traditional and non-traditional students.
Laid back. I like to discover with the student, teaching them how to teach themselves in a way. My learning style, and therefore my teaching style, has always been to break a lesson down to its simplest form, and tweaking it to fit various situations. This way, the lesson is easier to remember, like learning to ride a bike.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each student has their own style of learning and soak up information differently then other students. I myself like to learn visually and hands on. I have tried many styles of learning to see what works for me. I record lectures, take my own notes, like to question myself while I'm studying for a test. I think connecting something to something you already know will help you retain that new information very well. It makes me feel great when I know I have taught someone well and that they actual understand the information and are not just regurgitating what I am telling them.
I am a biology graduate from the University of Colorado. I am planning on getting my PhD in Molecular Bio-science. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor degree in computer science from Arkansas State University. I had to take many math classes to receive this degree. Some of the classes included Calculus I-III, Prob and Stat, and algebra. I have 4-5 years of training experience. I have trained bank employees how to use newly installed software and also trained bank mailroom employees how to follow instructions for sorting and distributing bank mail. I have also spent many hours helping my former stepdaughter with her high school math homework.
