My comments on tutoring Physics : Algebra based physics

I have been tutoring since high school. I began as a tutor during summer school for students on track to graduate. Now I work as a peer tutor at SUNY Orange, tutoring a range of subjects in Math and Science primarily. I've had students recommended to me by former students, as well as former students approaching me for private tutoring if our schedules didn't fit for peer tutoring. I prefer to allow the student to attempt to find answers on their own first, and only supply help when a student is clearly struggling to find the answer. I work through each lesson or homework assignment step-by-step with the student, making sure they understand each part before moving on.

A Little Bit About Me...

I use a lot of repetition and the asking of questions to ensure that students are learning concepts. I also try to give them analogies to help them remember things. I love working with children, as the oldest in a big family, I have often served as caretaker while my father is at work. I currently have an 8 year old younger brother who I'm working with as well as one in his Sophomore year of High school. I'm helping him with algebra and pre-calc.
