My comments on tutoring PCAT : Pharmacy College Admission Test: Mainly chemistry and organic chemistry at the rudimentary level. I've helped 15 people into pharmacy school in the last 4 years.

I am an organic chemist. I will only teach you at the level you are assigned. My background makes it easier for you. Anyone can learn organic chemistry or the other subjects and standardized exams I've tutored. I focus on understanding and independence with a minimum of memorization. In fact, that's the only difference between an "A" and something that is unacceptable. I hold a 100% pass rate (or better). I believe that every student can learn more than they think

I am a laid back type of instructor and use my experience and intuition to create unique learning environments for each student. A Little Bit About Me...

Perhaps stemming from my time as the owner of a successful construction company, I've found that I learn best when I'm provided mental imagery, which often means the employment of analogies and metaphors. Cell biology became simplified when viewed as the textile manufacture and the subsequent distribution and utilization of the products. Due to being a non-traditional student I've also realized that patience is imperative. I've felt like instructors have given up on me in the past, only to keep forging ahead either by myself or with the aid of a tutor and eventually master whatever material was at hand. Also, my experience in the past few years in the E.R. has allowed me to become adept in dealing with and defusing difficult situations.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been studying in the scientific field for over 7 years at the college level and obtained pre-pharmacy status from a community college as well as an Associates of Applied Science Degree from the same community college majoring in Chemical Processing Technology. Also I have obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from an accredited University. I have taken math courses up to and including differential equations (sometimes called Calculus 4) as well as many organic, inorganic and analytical chemistry courses with the labs for each of these subjects. I have enjoyed teaching my classmates everything from basic theories and concepts to how to use specific instrumentation.
