Learning starts with learing about oneself and how you best perform. It is very similar to sports, you start off learning the techniques and then you must learn how you best apply them, and yes it takes practice. I have gathered many tools in my life and they came from all the different activities I have done. One must only keep the eyes open and mind focused to absorb the world around them. Together we compiled our lessons into a book, and once a week each we taught a small group of students. When I moved to Boulder this summer, I began tutoring CU students, adults taking online courses, and high school students. I also have experience tutoring for the SAT, ACT, and GRE.
My teaching style depends on the student. Some students need me to explain the subject material to them rather than read it from the book, while other students benefit most if they work through a problem and then ask me a question when they get stuck. As a Black African American I am driven to see that there are more diversity in the accounting and education field. Right now the number of minority students that are actively seeking degrees in this field are limited and I would like to be a positve influence in the field to get more students in the minority race to get involved. I have earned a degree with my BS in Business Administration Economics
