I started tutoring when I was in high school. I have always been good in math. After high school I tutored students in my class and also students in high school. I attended Central Alabama Community College and before going to Troy I helped teach a pre-cal based physics class. Even since I've graduated from Troy I have help tutor younger students. I get great joy by doing this. I am a people person and love to meet new people. I think this helps me in my ways of teaching math. I like to understand how the person learns. That's the beautiful thing about math there are so many ways to learn. After understanding the person it is very easy to teach them. During college, I swam varsity, an experience that taught me the patience and time management required to balance a rigorous academic schedule with the physical strain of a full-time sport. Later, I found that my personality and ability to work well with others was more helpful out of the water. During my 4th year, I coached the club swim team, and then moved up to assistant coaching the varsity team during my 5th year. I have a passion for learning as well as sharing my knowledge with others. I obtained a BA in Mathematics and am currently working on MAT in Mathematics. While in college I was part of a tutoring/mentoring program and helped my peers with math. I also had an opportunity to prepare high school students for the Alabama Grad Exam during a summer session with the Upward Bound Program.
