There are so many wonderful resources available online as well as videos and dvds that can support the materials my students are using in their classrooms. ASL Certified Tutor

I had excelled in my first American Sign Language class in the 10th grade and proceeded to take the progressive courses that my high school offered. I also took a Psychology course and graduated with an Advanced Diploma in 2005. Immediately following graduation, I enrolled at Germanna Community College and became certified in American Sign Language in 2009 and in 2010, became certified as a Paraprofessional Counselor. I've completed a 225 hour internship at the disability Resource Center under the supervision of their Deaf and Hard of Hearing Coordinator. Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I have a B.A. in ASL. I was taught by Deaf professors and have many Deaf friends. I have worked as a Deaf advocate and am aware of not only the language but the culture, history, and social issues in the Deaf community.

I am very flexible and try my best to match my approach to my student.
I obtained my Associates in ASL then went on to my Bachelors in ASL. I plan to pursue a Masters in Social Work for Deaf and HH from Gallaudet University. I have taken several summer classes at Gallaudet to immerse myself in the Deaf world. I worked as a Deaf advocate in upstate NY and maintain advocacy ties within the Deaf community. My teaching style varies depending on the needs of each student. Because students learn in different ways, I feel it is important to start with a basic teaching method and evolve from there for each individual child and his or her level of learning. I feel that motivation goes a long way and that students should feel rewarded for any level of progress they accomplish.
My experience includes two years of full time teaching at the PreK level. I also have experience working with grade level students through practicums, student teaching, and substitute teaching. I love working with children. When i was younger I had a job helping my aunt with her daycare business. I have five nieces and nephews, six siblings, two god children and one Daughter.
