I teach ESOL using a variety of methods emphasizing the areas of conversation, grammar, pronounication, reading and writing. My students are actively involved and enjoy their time in class. I always start with what my students need and want- for instance, if they are concerned about oral conversation in a business or work setting, college course work, englarging their vocabulary, or working on everyday conversations. I encourage my students to keep a journal and to write down problems they may encounter between tutoring sessions, so we can address their questions together. I believe a solid foundation is the key th success.

I began working with pre-k age group as a lead teacher for the four year olds room. After leaving that placement I started working with high school aged students as a substitute. Working with these young adults reinforced my belief that if a student does not have the basic skills learned early in their education, it is very difficult to go back and relearn them.
