I really enjoy engaging the student in discussion of the topic and helping them experience the events in History rather than just remembering dates and locations.
I am currently pursuing a degree in secondary education with a specialization in American History. I have a passion for the subject and for helping students succeed. I just completed my practicum last fall and was active in a 10th grade World History class for about 10 hours a week. During the summer of 2011 I was employed at girl scout camp in Lake George where I planned and taught History lessons for our weekly programs. I also have worked for the Walt Disney Company, in the Magic Kingdom. While I was there, I was able to do American History trivia and tours for the Liberty Square area.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that a subject should be presented in a way that is fun for the pupil. I provide a very hands on approach to learning. If the lesson is engaging than I will argue firmly that a lesson can be extracted from the experience. Certain characteristics are important in the tutor to student relationship. The tutor shall be patient,firm,fun and fair. Every child can succeed if provided with the right resources and the utilization of their resources is essential in their academic success.
